About Maureen Marcotte

Maureen Marcotte was born in Pembroke Ontario in 1951. After graduating from the Visual Arts program at the University of Ottawa in 1979, she and partner David McKenzie moved to the Gatineau Hills north of Ottawa to establish a studio. She creates intensely decorated pieces, using wax resist, sgraffito and underglaze colours to create intricate patterns. With David McKenzie, Maureen is a partner in Galerie Mckenzie Marcotte in Wakefield where their work, as well as paintings and sculpture by local artists, is available.

  1. We love Allegra’s story of how you transcribe a fern shape to the round platter, it is gorgeous. Wow!
We are looking forward to seeing the finished product in person.
    Keep up the good work.
